Gaelscoil Thomás Dáibhís

Gaelscoil Thomás Dáibhís is a co-ed Gaelscoil primary school located in Summerhill, Mallow. The school was established in the early eighties and has grown significantly over the years to its current capacity of more than 420 pupils.

O’Keeffe O’Connell Architects were appointed as Architects and Design Team lead for the delivery of the project. The brief included the construction of seven classrooms on the existing sloping Gaelscoil site.  The project had to be dovetailed with a large development in the adjoining second level school to provide new pedestrian and vehicular access to the school. Temporary pre-fabricated classrooms were provided on-site during the construction works to facilitate the existing school.  Additional play spaces along with staff and visitor parking also formed part of the brief.
